Lucy Verasamy: ITV weather star admits mix-up to rival BBC presenter ‘So clear’

ITV weather favourite Lucy Verasamy, 39, took to Twitter and responded to a social media user who shared a stunning photo of the city. But it didn’t take long for rival BBC presenter Tomasz Schafernaker to react to the meteorologist’s blunder earlier this week.

The person in question tweeted a photo of a full moon overlooking the River Thames, which highlighted the skyline.

They wrote: “Wow the moon is looking amazing over the Thames tonight.”

BBC presenter Tomasz replied: “So clear. I swear you could see as far as Brooklyn!”

However, it was Lucy’s cheeky response which raised eyebrows, as she admitted she thought the picture was not taken in London but in fact China.

“I thought it was Hong Kong,” she replied, followed by a laughing-face emoji.

Tomasz responded: “Lucy,” with a quizzical face emoji following her honesty.

Elsewhere, the ITV meteorologist gave viewers an update following a yellow weather warning as a result of Storm Dennis, which is set to arrive in the coming days.

Lucy admitted the UK can expect “a lively 24 hours” with the sun being in “short supply”.

She continued: “Increasingly windy and wet into the first stages of tomorrow morning. Several hours of fresh falls of snow across central and southern Scotland and parts of England and Northern Ireland.

“Difficult and dangerous driving conditions and as temperatures fall across the bulk of Scotland, one of the coldest nights of the season so far.

“We could see lows of -10 degrees Celsius. The coldest night since the beginning of December last year.”

Lucy added: “Elsewhere, temperatures recover but gusty winds and downpours waking us up before the morning alarm.
