New Fortnite rival REVEALED: Division 2 Battle Pass release date, rewards and challenges

The Division 2 is getting ready to take on Fortnite, as Ubisoft announces plans to release a Battle Pass for the shooter.

Fresh off the back of unveiling the Warlords of New York expansion, Ubisoft confirmed that The Division 2 would soon introduce Fortnite-style seasons.

The first season has been given a March 10 release date – which is just a week after the launch of the Warlords of New York DLC.

Each season will last for approximately three months, and contain both free and paid tiers and rewards.

According to Ubisoft, seasons will feature a main target and a network of enemies to track down and destroy. There’s currently no word on a Battle Royale mode.

Ubisoft explains more: “The expansion will also introduce a new post-launch philosophy: Seasons –  3-month-long themed endgame event with a new main target and his network to track down, introducing them at a regular pace, each with their own stories and unique rewards.

“The first season begins one week after the release of The Division 2 Warlords of New York.”

While seasons will primarily revolve around hunting targets, additional activities will also be available.

This includes Leagues and Global Events, each with their own rewards.

“In addition to the Seasonal Manhunt, Seasons will offer new in-game activities,” Ubisoft continues.

“Leagues are a series of challenges for players with opportunities to unlock rewards based on players’ ability to complete such challenges.

“Players will also see the return of Global Events, time-limited in game events during which a global modifier is applied to the entire game and players will be rewarded by completing specific tasks.

“During each Season, players will grow their Season level to unlock various rewards by participating in the various seasonal activities or even simply playing the game.”

According to Ubisoft, players can collect additional rewards by purchasing a Season Pass, similar to the Battle Pass found in Fortnite.

The news was announced at the end of a live stream detailing the Warlords of New York expansion.

Releasing on March 3, Warlords of New York adds a new campaign set in Lower Manhattan.

Players must track down a rogue Division agent and his underlings across locations such as Wall Street, Chinatown and the Two Bridges.

Agents will gain new abilities by defeating rogue agents, who specialise in areas such as chemical warfare, stealth and heavy weapons.

The release of Warlords of New York will coincide with a big update to the user-interface, Gear system and Dark Zone.
