NCIS Los Angeles: Why did Hidoko star Andrea Bordeaux leave NCIS LA? Real reason

NCIS: LA fans were left devastated by Hidoko’s (played by Andrea Bordeaux) heartbreaking death at the beginning of season 10 when she was confirmed as killed off. Here is everything the actor has revealed about the fate of her character and why she decided to leave.

Harley Hidoko joined the NCIS Los Angeles team at the beginning of season nine as the team’s newest member.

She soon fit in well with her other team members including Callen (Chris O’Donnell), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).

However, by the end of the season she snuck off on a special mission to Mexico.

She did this to pursue a cartel after it became clear Shay Mosley’s (Nia Long) son was in danger.

She didn’t give an exact reason for her departure but it seems like her character’s storyline had come to an end.

Bordeaux also gave a statement on social media ahead of the season nine finale where she said she was grateful for the opportunity.

She wrote in May 2018: “I just wanted to take a moment to say how grateful, humbled and honoured I’ve been to be a part of this show.

“Thank you so much to the amazing cast and #thebestcrewinhollywood. Thank you to every director.

“Thank you to the service men and women who work in various positions on the show, whether as background or as our tactical experts. You make me proud to play a Marine.

“Thank you to the producers for giving me my big break. Thank you @cbstv. Thank you to all of the fans who have been so kind and supportive.”

Since starring in the popular procedural, Bordeaux has gone on to appear in Dynasty and Pressure.

She is also signed on for the new Starz comedy series Run the World.

Bordeaux’s is not the only dramatic exit from NCIS: LA in recent years after fan-favourite Agent Christopher Lasalle (Lucas Black) left in season 11.

Having been a part of the show since is began in 2014, his death was extremely shocking for fans.

The star left the show in order to spend more time with his family.

NCIS: LA is currently on a break but is expected to return this Sunday (February 16) with a new episode of the drama.

NCIS: LA airs on CBS on Sunday evenings.
