Michael Douglas Claims Some Of His Father Kirk’s Last Words Were Support For Presidential Candidate Mike Bloomberg

One day after Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas buried his 103-year-old father – Hollywood acting legend Kirk Douglas – he was in Wisconsin for the opening of presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s second campaign office in the state. Douglas spoke to Bloomberg’s supporters at the opening, and he revealed that some of Kirk’s last words were in support of the former New York mayor’s presidential campaign.

“I don’t know if he was pulling my leg or not, but one of the last words that he said in the hospital, when he came and he saw me, asked me to lean over close to him, and I leaned over close to him and he said, ‘Mike can get it done,’” Douglas told Bloomberg supporters, according to WKOW.

The 75-year-old Douglas said that his dad was excited when Bloomberg announced his presidential run on November 24th, and he agrees with his dad that Bloomberg is the candidate with “a proven record.”

Douglas said that Bloomberg has done more as a private citizen and as a mayor than most congressmen, senators, and other elected officials. He added that Bloomberg is a “great, great guy.”

Douglas also called this a “rare, rare moment,” and explained that he hasn’t felt like this since John Kennedy. He also pointed out that Bloomberg has separated his run for President from his private businesses, which was something “some other people” haven’t done, an obvious jab at President Trump.

Douglas noted that Bloomberg’s company multiplied by four times in value when he was mayor of New York City, so “he’s doing something right.”

Michael Douglas publicly announced in January that he was supporting Michael Bloomberg’s candidacy, calling him “one of the greatest candidates in the history of our elections.”

In response, President Trump’s campaign rep Anna Kelly told The Milwaukee Sentinel that despite Bloomberg’s desperate efforts to buy relevancy in the 2020 Presidential election, he can’t hide from “the socialist policies that made him a failed mayor.”

Kelly added that Bloomberg’s attempts to control every aspect of citizens’ lives – from anti-Second Amendment policies to regulating the size of sodas – are straight out of the “socialist, big government playbook.”
