WoW Classic Darkmoon Faire release news ahead of February Phase 3 update

Tickets to the Darkmoon Faire will be available to use in WoW Classic today, February 10, 2020. Blizzard confirmed the news earlier month, revealing plans for the returning event online, along with news regarding new Phase 3 content. The full release time for the Darkmoon Faire has not been revealed yet by the development team, but fans should have full access in the coming hours.

As revealed by the WoW Classic team earlier this month, The first Darkmoon Faire in WoW Classic will get underway this week, with the festivities opening on Monday, February 10.

The good news is that the Darkmoon Cards that make up the beasts, elementals, portals, and warlords sets have already started to drop from enemies and bosses in-game.

The latest news from Blizzard confirms: “A gathering of the exotic from around the world and beyond, the Darkmoon Faire is a celebration of the wondrous and mysterious found in Azeroth.

“While the Faire spends most of its time in parts unknown, Silas Darkmoon and his enigmatic employees do stop from time to time in Mulgore and Elwynn Forest.

“When the Faire is on its way, barkers will stop by Orgrimmar and Ironforge to announce its arrival.

“Festivities begin on Monday, February 10 and will be available to visitors for a week before shutting down until the following month.

“Visitors will be able to access the Faire in alternating months either from Elwynn Forest or Mulgore and serves as a neutral location for both the Horde and Alliance.

“While there are no guards to stop you from travelling through the portal, those on PvP realms will need to exercise caution when entering into enemy territory to get to the Faire.”

According to Blizzard, completing games and quests for the Darkmoon Faire will generally reward you with Darkmoon Prize Tickets.

Tickets can also be earned by offering trade goods to Chronos, Kerri Hicks, Rinling, or Yebb Neblegear.

Gamers will need to speak to Gelvas Grimegate to redeem Darkmoon Faire Tickets for various prizes, including some epic-quality pieces of gear. You’ll also be able to trade in Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets toward reputation.

And the Darkmoon Faire isn’t the only big change coming to WoW Classic this week.

Blizzard has also confirmed that more Phase 3 content will be released on Wednesday, February 12.

This will include the return of Blackwing Lair, Level 50 Class Quests, New Reputation Rewards that were added in patches 1.6 and 1.7 of original WoW.

A full breakdown from Blizzard can be found below:

Blackwing Lair – In the dark recesses of the mountain’s peak, Nefarian, the eldest son of Deathwing, conducts some of his most awful experimentation, controlling mighty beings like puppets and combining the eggs of different dragonflights with horrific results. Should he prove successful, even darker pursuits rest on the horizon. And, yet, the Lord of Blackrock is not a mere scientist – he is a great dragon cornered in his lair. Can he truly be defeated by mortal hands?

The Blackwing Lair attunement quest, “Blackhand’s Command”, will become available on all realms tomorrow, Friday, January 10.

Level 50 Class Quests – All players, starting at level 50, can now begin class-specific questlines offered by class trainers in capital cities. These quests conclude with a choice of one of three powerful rare items.

New Reputation Rewards – The Argent Dawn, Thorium Brotherhood, Timbermaw Hold, Silverwing Sentinels, and Warsong Outriders faction vendors now offer reputation reward items that were added in patches 1.6 and 1.7 of original WoW.

Eternal Quintessence – Players who complete “Hands of the Enemy” and reach Revered reputation with Hydraxian Waterlords may now obtain Eternal Quintessence from Duke Hydraxis.
