The Walking Dead season 10 theories: Lydia's death sealed in Alpha promo clue?

No season of AMC’s zombie epic is complete without a few major character deaths to stun fans along the way. Now that a tantalising piece of promotional art featuring The Walking Dead’s antagonist Alpha (played by Samantha Morton) has been released, some think the poster could be a clue to whose head is next on the chopping block.

The simple black posters also feature characters Daryll (played by Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Carol (Melissa McBride).

They’re accompanied by an evocative tagline in a scruffy graffiti font that reads: “We are the Walking Dead.”

Three of the four posters are wide banners, however, Alpha is showcased in a full headshot, screaming at someone or something off-camera.

One fan took to YouTube to suggest that the poster could hint towards Alpha’s familial connection with Lydia (Cassady McClincy).

The fan said: “The new artwork shows an Alpha screaming in kind of an emotional rage with a tear coming out of her eye.”

For the last two seasons of The Walking Dead, Alpha has been introduced as the leader of The Whisperers, a group of survivors who use the skin of walkers in order to disguise themselves.

It is revealed that Alpha has already killed her husband Frank, meaning she already has the capacity to murder family members if this fan’s theory that she’s about to kill her daughter Lydia is correct.

They added: “Could that point to Lydia’s death?

“She lost her daughter, her people are starting to sway, the horde is being destroyed.”

Before the midseason break, Alpha had managed to trap Daryll and his team of survivors in a deadly ambush.

The riveting cliffhanger has set fan speculation alight, and many are speculating that not everyone is going to make it out of the underground cave with their lives intact.

It will inevitably be a decisive final ploy for Alpha, but in true Walking Dead fashion not everything will go as cleanly as planned.
