Dancing on Ice: Maura Higgins eliminated despite Ben Hanlin tipped to exit?

Since returning to ITV, the 2020 series of Dancing on Ice has seen many bumps, scrapes and tears as the celebrity contestants take to the ice week after week in a bid to win. This evening, when the ice skating competition airs, it will be the last time one pair will perform. According to OddsMonkey, it seems Maura Higgins is going to exit next despite other bookmakers predictions.

Last weekend, Kevin Kilbane and professional ice skating partner Brianne Delcourt faced Ian ‘H’ Watkins and his professional ice skating partner Matt Evers in the skate-off.

However, the four judges, Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean decided to save Ian and Kevin was therefore eliminated from the competition.

Upon his exit, Kevin said: “I didn’t need to come on the show and I knew from the start it was going to be a great run and we always said it would be great to make it to our birthday weekend and we have.”

As for who is going to be following in his footsteps and be the sixth to leave the show, OddsMonkey has taken a look at each celebrity contestant’s Instagram followings to predict who is currently the least favourite with online fans.

At the end of last month, OddsMonkey suggested Caprice Bourret would be eliminated.

While she didn’t get booted out of the competition, she did leave on her own accord after pulling out of the show.

This weekend, the bookmakers are tipping magician Ben Hanlin as next to leave, but OddsMonkey think it will be Love Island star Maura Higgins who actually exits.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton said: “Once again the departure from Dancing on Ice could be tracked to their Social Media following with Kevin Kilbane voted off. Caprice had seen the lowest increase percentage wise, but once she walked out – it was Kilbane, who was voted off by the public.

However, one person who is probably going to avoid the bottom two is Libby Clegg MBE.

She, once again, sits top with 12.47 percent increase from week five, having added 1,219 followers to her account.

“In terms of the winner and Perri looks unbeatable, and Social Media wise he had his best week since the show began,” Peter explained.

The Diversity dancer had a 3.26 percent increase in Instagram followers since last week, while not the highest out of all contestants, he is popular with fans.
