James Bond: Friends star to SMASH Sam Heughan and James Norton’s chances? Big news

Friends favourite David Schwimmer has already come out and shut down any possibility of him taking on the iconic role of James Bond.

In a recent interview, the star said the idea of the Bond production casting him, whose latest film is No Time To Die, would ‘never happen in a million years’.

But despite this, the actor has entered the running with bookmakers, sitting in at 200/1.

Could Schwimmer replace long-time star Daniel Craig to play the secret agent?

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “It seems unlikely Schwimmer will get the call up from Bond bosses.

“But given how long it is taking for them to decide on Craig’s replacement he’s not out of the running completely.”

The latest odds put Grantchester actor James Norton as the current 6/4 favourite.

Another recent shock saw Michael Ward had been placed in the running to play the suave MI6 character.

According to Ladbrokes, following the star’s win at the BAFTAs this morning, he entered the top 20 of actors pretty swiftly.

Ward picked up the gong for Rising Star in Britain, an award which bowled over the actor.

With odds of 16/1 to take over from the franchise’s current lead, his chances definitely seem more hopeful than Schwimmer’s anyway.

Michael Fassbender remains strong at odds of 10/1, and Avengers star Chris Hemsworth joins him there.

Cillian Murphy holds fast at 12/1, and alongside Ward are Superman actor Henry Cavill and child star Jamie Bell.

James Bond No Time To Die is released in cinemas April 2.
