Silent Witness: Major death confirmed as Thomas Chamberlain star drops big clue?

The newest series of the hit BBC drama Silent Witness has seen the Lyell Centre encounter a deadly nerve agent, based on the Novichok poisonings in Salisbury in which  Sergei and Yulia Skripal were raced to hospital after coming into contact with the poison. Tonight will see the story continue following Jack Hodgson (played by David Caves) being previously rushed to hospital after coming in contact with a victim. But will he make it?

In the final scene of last week’s episode, viewers watched as Dr Jack collapsed trying to help DS Vail (Adelle Leonce) after coming into contact with a deadly nerve agent.

She very sadly died before the ambulance was able to get to her in painful scenes, leaving Jack vulnerable.

Tonight will pick up right where viewers were left off with Jack in the back of an ambulance, struggling to catch his breath with a paramedic in a special hazmat suit screaming at him to stay alive.

The drama continues tonight but it seems David isn’t the only one in trouble.

He added: “There’s a concomitant military connection. When you think about the only places in the country where such things can be created, or whether technology and power exist to create them – our military establishments like Porton Down, or various other ones.

“The story goes into that area.

“As soon as you’re in the world of nerve agents, it would be foolhardy to rule out a potential Russian connection. Whether there’s one in our programme or not, I can’t tell you.”

Tonight Nikki, Thomas and Clarissa will fight for the truth of who is really behind the poisoning, it just depends if they can get the truth in time.

David Caves has given no indication of leaving the show but fans know how quickly the Silent Witness landscape can change.

Fans have taken to Twitter ahead of the episode distraught at the idea of Jack being killed off, one said: “I’m really nervous for #silentwitness tonight!!  Please don’t kill Jack off!!  It’s hard enough knowing that Clarissa is leaving!! @EmiliaFox @thelizcarr #DavidCaves @BBCOne.”

Another added: “Just caught up on #SilentWitness, Jack better not die and Clarissa can’t leave!! #DavidCaves & @thelizcarr are incredible not to mention the friendship Nikki, Jack and Clarissa have. I think we all need a hug like this after that episode.”

#SilentWitness What are you doing to me? Shouting at the screen when Clarissa says shes leaving. Then my Jack finishing the show in an ambulance. I’ve loved this team and I really dont want it to change @thelizcarr @EmiliaFox #DavidCaves #RichardLintern.” added another.

Silent Witness continues on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
