Chris Evans: 'You've got to stop this!' Virgin Radio host pleads with a listener on-air

Chris Evans, 53, had to directly plead with a listener on Tuesday morning to stop texting into the show, after he received five messages from her. The host begged the listener known as Judith, to “cease and desist” as she inundated the show’s hotline with the same message.

Chris was reading out messages from his loyal Virgin Radio listeners and lost his cool when he came to one from a familiar name, with a familiar subject.

“Can you get Bradley Jaden from Les Miserables on the show please,” Chris read out.

He sighed before tutting: “Judith, this is the fifth text you’ve sent about this this morning.”

“Fortunately for you, we have to read out the next 10 regardless of what they say but you’ve got to stop this!”

Chris’ co-hosts Vassos Alexander and Rachel Horne could be heard snickering in the background.

The host then revealed that the Bradley super-fan had booked to see her hero on tour.

“Apparently she’s bought tickets to follow him around Europe,” he giggled, baffled at the pure dedication from the fan.

“You have to cease and desist!” he exclaimed.

Swiftly moving on, will Chris give in and grant Judith her wish?

The former BBC radio DJ seems to be having one of those weeks, as he appears to find himself getting wound up at the smallest things.

“We did, there was a lot of drilling work going on,” Claudia agreed, recalling the event.

But Chris still couldn’t comprehend why she had spoken to him at all.

“But why were you interviewing Vassos?!” he exclaimed.

“What good could come of this?!”

The occasional TV presenter explained that Vassos was part of an audience research initiative that she needed for the show she was doing.

“I was doing a show about step counting,” she revealed.

“About whether it was a good idea or not psychologically, or whether it might not get you to walk or run as far, in fact.”

“So I interviewed Vassos about how he uses his watch that counts all his steps.”

Chris interrupted: “And did you use the interview?”

To his disappointment, Claudia admitted they did, which left the former Top Gear presenter disgruntled and mumbling more sly jibes towards his friend under his breath.

The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky returns tomorrow at 6:30am on Virgin Radio.
