Billie Eilish Slammed As Hypocrite For Trashing Rappers Who Lie About Their Lifestyle — Some Compare Her To Miley Cyrus

Billie Eilish is alternative music’s number one artist right now. She has always declared her love and inspiration of hip-hop but she’s now being called out for being hypocritical.

Billie has collaborated with some of the hottest rappers on the scene. Her music along with her aesthetic all comes from the groundbreaking genre.

However, in a recent interview with Vogue, she is trashing rappers who lie about their life.

‘Just because the story isn’t real doesn’t mean it can’t be important. There’s a difference between lying in a song and writing a story. There are tons of songs where people are just lying. There’s a lot of that in rap right now, from people that I know who rap. It’s like, ‘I got my AK-47, ad I’m f***in’,’ and I’m like, what? You don’t have a gun. ‘All my bitches…’ I’m like, which bitches? That’s posturing, and that’s not what I’m doing.’

Her comments are understandingly not being well received. She is being compared to Miley Cyrus, who infamously used hip-hop culture to complete and promote her album Bangerz and then trashed the genre later.

Additionally, social media users feel that Billie lies in many of her lyrics which is no different than what she accuses rappers of.

One journalist tweeted: ‘Billie Eilish will win even harder now that she’s taken a colonial approach to hip hop. Would you prefer rap stories be 100% nonfiction so we can produce more dead or incarcerated rapstars? Stfu and stay in your lane.’

Another person pointed out: ‘Music is art. Art isn’t always real. Billie has a song where she says ‘she is the try to seduce your dad type; I am a bad guy.’ Does that mean she was trying to seduce older men while underage? No its the lyrics to a song. She is still young hence her naivety.’

‘Billie Eilish appropriates black culture then drags black music just like Miley Cyrus did but y’all don’t keep the same energy. If you cancel one, gotta cancel both,’ said another.
