Speculation Kate’s never seen before BAFTAs jewellery was a recent gift from the Queen

Kate Middleton, 38, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a recycled dress last night at the BAFTAs. She wore new jewellery, causing speculation about it provenance.  Dedicated fan account Kate Effect Affected speculated: “I think that Kate’s #KateMiddleton #DuchessofCambridge @vancleefarpels set might be a gift from the Queen.” This would be far from the first lavish gift Kate has received from the Queen.

Although Camilla does have earrings from the brand, a present from Prince Charles, these are diamond encrusted and far more expensive.

Camilla owns the Magic Alhambra earrings, with three motifs, which cost £33,700.

They are listed on the brand’s site at $43,900 or £33,772 excluding sales taxes.

Kate Middleton’s jewellery collection boasts millions of pounds worth of Diana’s jewellery.

Kate Middleton first displayed a piece from Princess Diana’s collection when announcing her engagement to Prince William.

The Duke proposed with a sapphire and diamond ring that Prince Charles gave Princess Diana when they became engaged.

It was thought to be worth £28,000 when it was bought and the value has since soared to a staggering £300,000.
