John Lennon son: What is wrong with Julian Lennon? Op ‘left him shaking inside’

John Lennon’s eldest son, Julian, had a horrific discovery not long ago. The musician has followed in his father’s footsteps in the music business. However a surprising discovery left him worried he would never be able to make music again.

Julian Lennon has revealed he discovered a growth on his head, forcing him to have emergency cancer operation in order to remove it.

The health scare was an incredible frightening thing for him, as he revealed to The Sun.

He said a skin specialist noticed something unusual about amole on his head, one which he has had for his entire life.

He eventually had a biopsy only this year, and when it was revealed the mole was malignant, he had to have it removed immediately.

Speaking of the scare, he said: “The trouble is… you think you have time… a few days ago, I went to visit my dermatologist, here in LA, when she noticed a little bump on my head that was actually a mole that had been there, along with a birthmark, for the last 57 years.

“But this time, it looked & felt a little different.

“Hopefully we managed to remove all that was cancerous, but the mole is being sent off again, for a further/deeper analysis, and I’ll have those results next week.”

Julian revealed how he went from joy to a fear that he “may be gone at any given moment”

He added: “I cannot tell you how I felt, from one moment of joy, to the fear of feeling that I may be gone, at any given moment.

“I’m still shaking inside…but my faith is strong.”

The star also urged fans to ensure they have health checks regularly, and thanked the doctor, Dr Tess Mauricio, for noticing the mole in the first place.

Julian is the son of John Lennon and his first wife, Cynthia, who divorced in 1968.

Cynthia met Lennon while they were at art college in Liverpool, and the pair began dating in 1958.

They then got married in 1962, and were only in their eery twenties at the time.

Julian was born in in April 8, 1963, which was at the start of Beatlemania, when his father became a huge pop sensation across the UK.

However, journalists and fans did not know about Lennon’s domestic life until after Julian was christened in the November after his birth.

Cynthia only went on tour with the Beatles once, and the reaction from fans to the pair turned sour, with Cynthia sometimes being in physical danger from fans, as described in Hunter Davies’ book The Beatles: The Authorised Biography.

In 1968, Cynthia reportedly found Lennon with Yoko Ono in their home, later discovering her husband was planning to sue her for divorce on grounds of adultery and seek full custody of Julian.

However, she began her own divorce proceedings later in the year, and was granted a higher settlement than Lennon had previously suggested, as well as annual payments and a trust fund for Julian, of whom Cynthia gained full custody.

After their divorce, Paul McCartney visited Cynthia and Julian, and composed the song Hey Jude on the way to see them.

After her divorce, Cynthia married three more times, before her death on April 1, 2015, at her home in Majorca, Spain.

She died with Julian by her side, and public messages of condolence were shared by surviving Beatles members McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well Yoko Ono.
