Apex Legends patch notes: Early news for Season 4 update and Battle Pass

It won’t be long before gamers on PS4, Xbox One and PC are updating their Apex Legends versions to Season 4. Tomorrow, February 4, 2020, has been confirmed as the launch date, with the full released expected to be available for download by 7pm, GMT. Respawn has been doing a great job keeping fans engaged with the latest twists and turns in the Apex storyline. Having seen one possible Legend assassinated by another, we now know that Revananet will be the star of Season 4.

And there are plenty of other changes being worked on, including a big map change for World’s Edge.

The final bits of information have been teased today through a new Apex Legends Season 4 trailer.

This includes a gameplay breakdown of how Revenant’s abilities will work on the map. But there are also a lot of tweaks being worked on too.

These will all be covered in the full patch notes released after Apex Legends Season 4 goes live.

However, we have found out some early details, including some of the stuff which is guaranteed.

Here’s the shortlist of changes coming with Apex Legends Season 4 as part of the early patch notes:

Map Update – World’s Edge has been shaken up with a giant Hammond Robotics harvester that has fractured Capital City, creating fissures leaking lava throughout the entire arena.

New Weapon – Find and equip the Sentinel bolt-action sniper rifle which features a special charge mechanic, giving players the freedom to really customize their shots — from slow to quick to charged shots.

Battle Pass – Players can get their hands on over 100 exclusive items, including Legendary skins, Apex Packs, Loading Screens, Music Packs and more.

Ranked Series 3 – Hone skills and earn recognition with Ranked Series 3 with a three month series divided into two splits — each with a soft reset. For players climbing up the competitive ladder, Ranked Series 3 introduces Master Tier, a new tier in between Diamond and Apex Predator.

While Apex fans will have to wait a little longer to find out about the Apex Legends Battle Pass, Respawn has provided a big update regarding the map changes.

World’s Edge will be noticeably different, with Jason McCord, Design Director on Apex Legends, revealing this about the new Harvester:

“As you drop into World’s Edge, you’ll immediately see the Planet Harvester, which Hammond Robotics are using to gather precious metals from the core of the planet for reasons unknown. The red beam can be seen from the entire island, giving players a better sense of directionality and understanding of the centre of the map.

“Anyone who has played Season 3 of World’s Edge knows that Fuel Depot can be scary, especially in late-game. Because this POI is the centre of the map, changing this location gives players more opportunity to experience the new content more often.

“With its large, multi-level design the Planet Harvester is unlike anything else on World’s Edge and brings exciting new gameplay options to the game. Fights are largely self-contained as squads will tend to enter the fight through the long hallways that lead to the centre of the structure. This should make 3rd parties a little more predictable and hopefully easier to defend against.

“Considering the unstable, volcanic nature of World’s Edge, it’s no surprise that the Planet Harvester has caused giant lava-filled faults to rupture, splitting Capital City in two.”

It’s expected that more Apex Legends release time news will be revealed tomorrow, February 4, 2020, by Respawn Entertainment.
