Abba NEW music: Benny Andersson reveals when fans can expect new songs THIS year – WATCH

It’s been over three-decades since ABBA released new music and now the band are planning on releasing two new songs. Benny Andersson hopes fans will be able to hear I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down later this year. Speaking with Swedish journalists, the 73-year-old said: “They’re coming.

Benny continued: “They’re coming this year. I’m guessing after the summer.

“But I can only guess, because I’m not really sure. But I would think so.”

Asked if he could promise 2020, the ABBA star said: “One shouldn’t promise anything but if I were to decide myself, it would be September.

“I can’t make that decision alone. But that’s what we’re aiming for.”

The 74-year-old said: “I mean in our heyday we kind of knew the next single would be played and so forth, but we never knew if it was going to reach Number One, if people would like it.

“It’s easy to forget that there is a before, and in the ‘before’ you don’t know. You take a risk and that’s what I still do.”

Meanwhile, Björn is open to the possibility of Mamma Mia 3 becoming a reality.

He said: “I doubt that very much, but I probably said after the first film that there won’t be a second.”

He added: “So, you never know. But, you know, why we did the second film was that [Ol] Parker and Richard Curtis came up with this idea and that’s why we did it.

“So, if someone comes up with an idea for Mamma Mia 3 you know I’ll have a look at it.

“We’ll have a look at it.”

New ABBA music will hopefully be released later this year.
