Reviews Roulette: Tony Hawk On A Unicycle | Mystery Steam Game Reviews

Yes: it’s another Reviews Roulette. Deal with it! This is the show where we download mystery Steam keys to try and find PC hidden gems. Our Steam game reviews get ten minutes to impress, but will they win us over? And will they win the Daddy Wallace award? Find out as Rock Paper Shotgun plays Reviews Roulette. And thanks to Logitech G and the G432 7.1 Surround Sound gaming headset for sponsoring this video. Check out the tech behind the G432 over on the Logitech G site: http://bit.ly/2FkTkbi

If you find other game reviews too thorough and professional, you might enjoy Reviews Roulette. Random Steam key opening is a YouTube thing – people buy mystery Steam codes and type them in, hoping to find the latest AAA nonsense. All the codes on Reviews Roulette are sent to us by indie developers – or have been suggested by other members of the RPS team – so take us to unusual places. This weeks random Steam codes, for example, include a unicycle homage to Tony Hawk’s pro skater and a sisyphean nightmare about pushing a wheelbarrow up a hill. Anger beckons.

Reviews Roulette reviews are not a proper critical breakdown – we are just trying to gauge whether we’d play more beyond the 10 minutes. In this episode of Reviews Roulette our mystery Steam key reviews take us to the spooky world of The Backrooms Game, where a man slips through a hole in reality into a never ending corridor splattered with seagull poop. Apparently it’s based on the back rooms meme, so maybe The Backrooms Game review will mean more to you than it did it old man Castle. We also deal with two unwieldy vehicles: a wonky wheelbarrow in Climb With Wheelbarrow and a defective droid in Ollie The Useless Robot. Both make us cross.

On a more hopeful note is the pitch perfect homage to Tony Hawks Pro Skater in Street Uni X – this one is a Kickstarter and only has a few hours left so get on it. Looks fab. We also bop our heads to the very groovy Overpass, and scratch our heads to the less sexy, but no less good, The Ultra Code – an Enigma machine puzzler.

Short version: if you want reviews of random Steam games , this is the show for you. Thanks to all the developers who sent in codes – if you have a game you’d like to see in Reviews Roulette, why not send them to [email protected].
