PS Plus vs Xbox Games with Gold February 2020: Sony wipes the floor with Microsoft AGAIN

PS Plus and Xbox Games with Gold releases have been unveiled by Microsoft and Sony.

The first batch of Xbox Games with Gold titles are out now on Xbox One, while the PS Plus new games go live on February 4.

Xbox One owners can download TT Isle of Man for Xbox One and Fable Heroes for Xbox 360.

Fable Heroes will be replaced by Star Wars Battlefront on February 16, while Call of Cthulhu joins Xbox One.

PlayStation Plus subscribers, on the other hand, can grab The Sims 4 and BioShock The Collection. As an added bonus, Firewall Zero Hour is available for PSVR owners.

With the free games coming thick and fast, now is the perfect time to once again pit Microsoft against Sony.

It’s been pretty one-sided for Sony as of late, so it will be interesting to see if Microsoft can claw a victory back for February 2020.

Judging by the games on offer, however, things don’t look good for Xbox One.

Here’s what the PS Plus games look like for February 2020…

The Sims 4

“Unleash your imagination and create a unique world of Sims that’s an expression of you! Explore and customise every detail from Sims to homes, and much more.

“Create Unique Sims – A variety of Sims are yours to personalise, each with distinct appearances, dynamic personalities, and inspiring aspirations. Build the Perfect Home – Effortlessly build and design ideal homes for your Sims using Build Mode.

“Explore Vibrant Worlds – Travel between locations, discover amazing and distinctive neighbourhoods, and encounter captivating venues. Play with Life – Control the rich and entertaining moments of your Sims’ lives from their relationships to their careers.”

BioShock The Collection

“Return to the cities of Rapture and Columbia and experience the award-winning BioShock franchise like never before. BioShock: The Collection retells the epic journeys of the BioShock universe beautifully remastered in 1080p.

“BioShock: The Collection contains all single-player content from BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, all single-player add-on content, the ‘Columbia’s Finest’ pack, and Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock, featuring Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson.”

These are the Xbox Games with Gold releases for February 2020…

TT Isle of Man

“Take on the challenge of Snaefell mountain in the motorcycle racing game, TT Isle of Man. All 37.73 miles of the legendary course is faithfully reproduced in this realistic moto-racing title that will challenge your skills and reflexes.

“Memorise each section and corner each bend to perfection, all while hurtling along at 180 mph.”

Call of Cthulhu

“Plunge into a world of cosmic horror and creeping madness in Call of Cthulhu. In the official videogame inspired by the classic pen and paper RPG, investigate a family death on an isolated island where nothing is as it seems.

“Trust no one in a story filled with strange creatures, weird science and sinister cults, set within the iconic universe of H.P. Lovecraft.”

Unfortunately for Xbox One owners, it’s a slam dunk victory for PlayStation Plus… again.

The PlayStation 4 version of The Sims 4 has a pretty average score of 66% on Metacritic, which is the same as Call of Cthulhu on Xbox One, and only 1% below TT Isle of Man.

The PS4 wins it – and convincingly so – with BioShock The Collection, which has a score of 84% on Metacritic.

The original BioShock is rightly hailed as a masterpiece, while the second and third games are also worth playing.

Here’s hoping Microsoft ups its game with the March 2020 line-up.
