Premier League clubs needed to sign new players by Friday 12pm on January 31 in order to have them available for Gameweek 24, when Wolves visit Old Trafford.
Their next game comes against Chelsea in Gameweek 25 but there is a 15-day gap between the games, due to the club’s winter break on the weekend of February 8/9.
That away trip to Stamford Bridge on February 17 will be Ighalo’s first opportunity to make a debut for United.
Not everyone is convinced by the signing, however, including former Cardiff manager Neil Warnock.
