The iconic collaboration have one more concert to go in the Japan dates of their Rhapsody tour. But the pressures of Queen and Adam Lambert’s extensive set can take its toll on the trio. Now guitarist Brian May has revealed his “price to pay”, as playing the guitar at such a pace for so long each night can really damage his nails.
May posted a close up of one of his nails on Instagram and wrote: “But there is a price to pay !
“I play as much with my nails as the pick (coin) and after two and a half hours of a night, playing with maximum adrenaline, the damage accumulates quite fast.
“In the old days my right-hand nails would be worn down to the quick by now – and they would be bloody.
“I have pictures somewhere … But now – due to the miracle of Powder Gel – help is at hand ! Literally !! Bri.”

Following tomorrow’s show in Nagoya, Queen and Adam Lambert will fly south for the Oceania leg of their Rhapsody tour.
They’ll head to New Zealand first for three concerts, before jetting on to Australia.
The collaboration will play seven shows Down Under, plus a set at the wildfires charity gig.
After an Easter break, Queen and Adam Lambert will kick off their European leg in May.
While the band won’t come to the UK until June, but there’s a string of dates here.
Aside from 10 shows at London’s O2 and two at Manchester Arena, Queen and Adam Lambert have announced a third city today.
The trio will now perform at Arena Birmingham on June 14 and 15.
Tickets for these last two UK shows for 2020 went on sale at 10am from Ticketmaster and Queen Online.
