Piers Morgan: ‘Very annoying’ GMB host slams ITV co-stars as he mocks ‘unpredictable’ NTAs

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 54, took to Twitter to vent his frustrations after the outspoken star chose to skip the National Television Awards 2020 held in London tonight. However, the broadcaster took the opportunity to take a cheeky jibe at I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! hosts Ant McPartlin, 44, Declan Donnelly, 44, and This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby, 38, and Phillip Schofield, 56.

In view of his 7.1 million followers, Piers fumed: “I can hardly bare the suspense to see if Ant & Dec and Holly & Phil win again, or [David] Walliams gives himself an award. The #NTAs are always SO tense… SO unpredictable!”

Fans rushed to respond to the swipe, with many social media users quizzing Piers on his decision to not attend the ceremony.

One person asked: “How raging will you be if GMB actually wins?”

Another person quizzed: “Did you really boycott Piers?” while a social media user tweeted: “I soooo want #GMB to win.”(sic)

While a fourth person added: “Can’t wait to see what you have to say about it in morning.”

Piers’ comments did not stop there after he also took aim at the National Television Awards 2020 and Britain’s Got Talent judge David Williams.

The GMB host said: “David Walliams already very, very annoying #NTAs.”

His comments comes after Piers made his feelings clear live on Good Morning Britain alongside his co-star Susanna Reid today.

He said: “I’m boycotting the NTAs this year! I’m not going again.

“It’s so boring, to watch the same people win every single year. I’m not having that camera on my loser face again.”

Piers then went on to mimic Holly’s voice, saying: “‘Hello, fingers crossed for tonight’… Oh shut up.”

This Morning presenters Holly and Phillip have won an NTA award every year, since the former joined the programme in 2009.

Their string of wins has prompted anger from the GMB host, and later in the show Piers could not hold back on his opinions on the awards saying: “The winners have to be Holly and Phil and Ant and Dec.

“I’m not saying they fix, but they have the same agent.”

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have won the NTA for Best Presenter every year since 2001.

Piers sarcastically said while crossing his fingers: “Good luck to Ant and Dec, wonder if you can pull it off for the 20th consecutive year.”

Elsewhere, his co-host Susanna took to the red carpet solo at the award ceremony after Piers snubbed the show.

She wowed in a full-length red dress, which was covered in tiny gems which shimmered and sparkled as she walked.

The TV presenter certainly commanded attention in the figure-hugging gown which perfectly showcased her famous curves and featured a plunging neckline.

A satin belt highlighted her slim waist and added an elegant flourish to her ensemble, while sparkly silver pumps added even more glamour.
