PS Plus February 2020: PS4 free games news as fans give PlayStation predictions

The new PS Plus free games reveal is almost upon, with only a few days left until Sony confirms its plans for next month. The big news will be announced this week, and we even know the date. If PlayStation sticks to its announcement schedule used in 2019, PS4 console owners should learn about the February PS Plus games lineup on January 29, 2020.

For now, PlayStation Plus subscribers can add the likes of Goat Simulator and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to their digital libraries.

These will remain playable past January but only if you claim them as part of your PS Plus subscription.

The chance to do this will end in early February, during which time they will be replaced by the latest PS4 games.

Goat Simulator and The Nathan Drake Collection are the current PlayStation Plus games and there have been no leaks so far to hint at what might replace them.

As this point in the PS4’s lifecycle, there are so many titles to pick from, it’s hard to guess what might be coming next.

That hasn’t stopped fans making their own predictions, with many hoping for more big AAA titles to be announced.

Some gamers are predicting that DOOM will be featured before the sequel is released by Bethesda.

Others are hoping for some winning combos, with the likes of Dishonored 2 and Dead Cells being mentioned alongside Nier Automata.

There’s a superstition that if you recently bought a game, it will soon become available on PS Plus.

And that’s why others are predicting titles like Star Wars Battlefront 2 and The Witcher 3 will soon be featured.

Others expect to see The Order 1886 included at some point in the future, and has featured on every PS Plus prediction thread since time immemorial.

While gamers believe there is some kind of system behind what games are featured during which month, not every collection can follow a pattern.

The latest PS Plus games roster technically includes four games, although the multiplayer modes for the Uncharted games are not available.

Sony explains: “From the groundbreaking storytellers at Naughty Dog, comes the genre-defining epic that revolutionised adventure storytelling, rebuilt by Bluepoint Games with the power of the PS4 system.

“Follow the perilous journey of Nathan Drake across the globe, from humble beginnings to extraordinary discoveries. Meet an unforgettable cast of characters as Drake puts life and friendship on the line in a race against ruthless enemies to uncover unimaginable treasure.

“Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection includes the single-player campaigns only for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.”

So it’s unlikely we will see something similar announced by Sony for February 2020. Sony also offers different free games, depending on where you live in the world.

For example, in Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UAE, Goat Simulator was switched out for Frantics, which is described as “Arcade style fun and madcap mini-games, where you and up to three friends have to face off in a variety of challenges.”

Meanwhile, PlayStation Asia featured an extra game, adding Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection alongside Goat Simulator and Nathan Drake. Kunio-kun World Classics Collection includes 18 titles in one package, including the Double Dragon trilogy.

So fans will have to find out what’s being planned as the next free PS4 games to pick in February.
