Frozen 2 DVD and Blu-ray release date: When is Frozen out? Can I watch it online?

Frozen 2 saw Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell reunite as sisters Elsa and Anna. The pair had to save Arendelle as the weather threatened to tear their home apart and a strange voice called Elsa to the north. Fans flocked to the cinemas to see the film – but when is it available to watch at home, either online or on DVD?

When is Frozen 2 available to watch on digital download?

UK fans need not wait long, as the movie will be available to download on March 16.

Frozen 2 will be available on 4K and HD digital download, while a version also featuring Frozen and Frozen 2 as a bundle will also be made available.

At present, it is unclear where the film will be available, though usually it will be available on digital download via Amazon, iTunes and sometimes even YouTube.

However, it is important to note the film is not currently available to stream.

Any website claiming to have the film for streaming or download is illegal.

The Digital Economy Act 2017 means people could now face ten-year prison sentences for illegally streaming copyrighted content.

To be sure you’re not watching copyrighted material, you should go direct to companies such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, according to FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft).

When is Frozen 2 available on DVD and Blu-ray?

Frozen 2 will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on March 30, so only a short while after the digital version.

For many fans, the opportunity to own a copy of the movie is incredibly special, so fans will be happy to be able to keep these close.

However, there is also another method through which fans will be able to see Frozen 2.

Disney+, the new streaming service from Disney, will be available in the UK from March 24.

We know that Disney content, as well as Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar and National Geographic content, will be available to stream on Disney+ when the platform is released in the UK.

The first Frozen movie from 2013 will be available to stream there, as has been confirmed by Disney themselves.

However, the fate of the second movie is yet to be confirmed.

It seems likely, however, with the release date of the platform being placed at a similar time to the home release for Frozen 2, that these two things will be brought together and fans who make the purchase of Disney Plus will also get the franchise movie too.

How much has Frozen 2 made at the box office?

Worldwide, the movie has beaten the billion dollar threshold and hit $1.42billion since its release in November, which is just shy of £1.1billion.

In America alone it has hit a huge $470million (£358.6million) while in overseas markets, which includes the UK, it has made an even more impressive $949.5million (£726.4million) which adds up to a huge number.

This has beaten the 2013 movie, only by a small margin, with the first film making £1.3billion worldwide, which is just shy of the billion mark in UK currency, equalling £979.8million.

Of course, if a third movie is made, it will no doubt continue to bring in big bucks for Disney.
