A new week, a new beef with 50 Cent. The Power head honcho apologized, complimented, and then trolled Taraji P. Henson for comments she made about him comparing Empire and Power. The musician posted his thoughts via Instagram.
As you probably already know, there was a time when Empire and Power were at their peak. The pg-13 Fox show had some of the same viewers as the premium mature series.
In 2014, 50 slammed Empire for copying the marketing style of his show. Since then, he has trolled the musical program for its drop in ratings and more.
Taraji appeared on T.I’s podcast where she revealed how she felt about 50’s behavior.
‘I didn’t like it, it was very uncomfortable. Our show has nothing to do with his show. We’re talking two different subject matters. I thought that did more damage than good. Why are we pitting two black shows against each other when it’s hard enough to get a black show on the air? That’s when I get pissed off, because that’s the crabs and the barrel f***** mentality. Why you going to compete with the black show? There are a million other shows you can compete with. Then again 50, do you know what the f*** I had to do to get here? Why tear down another black person? For competition?’
It seems that nearly three weeks later 50 finally got around to listening to the podcast and decided to address it in the most unique way.
In an Instagram post that showed him in character for his new series For Life, the rapper accompanied it with a caption that read: ‘I saw @tarajiphenson on @troubleman31 podcast, this is my sincere apology I did not mean to hurt your feelings in anyway. I love your work and I think you are amazing. I’m sorry no one is watching your show anymore.😔I realize I have to work on the fact that I have less empathy then others. I have met with the top executives at Fox and sold them(The Notorious Cop) it’s the show that is replacing yours😟 but I really want to work with you. I mean your awesome we would work well together😠but if you don’t like the idea I understand. 😡if you don’t roll with me, your gonna get rolled the f*** over.’
