Man Utd fans plan mass walkout in protest against Glazers and Ed Woodward

Manchester United fans are planning to showcase their discontent towards the board by taking part in a mass walkout next month. The Red Devils have endured a torrid season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and currently in fifth place in the Premier League table.

A 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday night heaped even more pressure on the Norwegian, with fans voicing their discontent towards the club with a chorus of boos after the final whistle.

Despite overseeing the club’s torrid campaign, the Old Trafford faithful have opted not to lambast Solskjaer.

Instead, they’ve repeatedly voiced their discontent towards the club’s owners – the Glazer family – and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward – the latter of whom has hired four managers since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

And they plan to send the Glazers their clearest message yet by walking out of the stadium during the second half of United’s Premier League clash with Wolves on February 1.

The former United hitman, however, is adamant he won’t panic signings to save his job.

“No, not at all,” the defiant 46-year-old said earlier this month. “I’m not going to protect myself.

“I’m going to do what’s best for the club, what I think and we feel is right for the club and I will never put myself before the club.

“For me, there’s no ‘I’ in this team and I could never, ever do that, that’s not me. I’m working for Manchester United, not for me.

“It wouldn’t always be the worst thing you can do, to put a short-term fix in if it’s good for the group.

“But you wouldn’t put yourself in a situation where you’ve done something that you regret in 18 months’ time.

“We’ve got to do due diligence – character of players, quality of players, that are the right fit into this squad.”

United will be back in action on Sunday afternoon to take on Tranmere Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup (3pm).
