Nene Leakes’ fans were upset earlier this morning when Wendy Williams announced that she received an upsetting text from her Real Housewives of Atlanta star friend claiming that she’s quitting. RHOA viewers may not need to panic just yet because a rep for the Bravolebrity says that nothing is official.
The PR for Nene told TooFab: ‘It’s been an especially difficult couple of weeks for Nene, and she was venting to her friend in private correspondence. Nothing has been confirmed or officially decided for next season.’
The announcement wasn’t such a surprise for those who have been following Nene in and off the show. She has made it clear that she feels like the women in the series treat her unfairly.
To make matters worse, Leakes felt that producers were intentionally trying to push her out when she retweeted a tweet that claimed ‘Bravo is trying to Lisa Vanderpump’ her. You may have noticed that she’s gotten a lot less airtime than she usually does and even started filming late this season.
The commotion comes after Wendy told Jerry O’Connell that she received a text from Nene saying that she’s quitting.
Jerry, who is a superfan of all the housewives franchise, became increasingly concerned.
The talk show host told her guest and the audience: ‘I took a break in-between commercials. I had to go to the bathroom, so I looked at my phone in between commercials and NeNe texts, ‘I’m quitting,’ 9:08 this morning. I’m surprised I got it because I have no service in my office, but I got it. I know something about NeNe that you all will cry, be sad, feel bad for her. She’s carrying the weight of a huge thing on her shoulders.’
As Williams started to cry she continued to explain: ‘I’m not going to say it, she’s got to say it. In my opinion, Nene, you need this platform to explain the other part of your life. You’ve got that secret and that secret is going to melt their hearts. When she shared it with me, I cried with her.’
After pleading with Wendy to tell him what this big secret is, Jerry said that everyone should just keep Nene in their prayers.
