NCIS season 17: What happened to Agent Paula Cassidy? Was she in a relationship with Tony?

In NCIS season 17, fans temporarily welcomed back Agent Ziva David (played by Cote de Pablo) as she helped the team with their latest mission. However, she didn’t stick around for too long as she left to be with Agent Tony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly) and their daughter Tali in Paris. But she wasn’t the only woman in Agent Dinozzo’s life. So where did Agent Cassidy (Jessica Steen) go? And was she in love with Agent Tony Dinozzo?

Paula was previously working as an agent on the USS Kennedy before she joined the team to help them following the death of Agent Caitlin Todd (Sasha Alexander) at the end of season one.

She later returned to Washington before being reassigned to the Pentagon where she led her own team.

Paula was in the first four seasons of NCIS before things took a dramatic turn.

Was Paula Cassidy in a relationship with Tony Dinozzo?

No, the agents were not in a relationship but they did have a romantic connection.

Since she first appeared in NCIS, there was a clear spark between the two of them and she helped Tony through his grief having lost Agent Todd during the first season.

She also gave him plenty of advice when it came to love, once telling him: “Life’s too short not to tell someone you love them if you do.”

This, as well as her later death, later led to Tony admitting his feelings for another woman.

In the fourth season, we met Dr. Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson) who was the daughter of an arms dealer.

Tony went undercover and started dating her to try and get closer to her father.

However, everything changed when he started falling in love with her.

Paula advised him to go with his heart and following her death, Tony finally told Jeanne how he felt but broke down in tears as he had just lost yet another agent close to him.

NCIS continues every Tuesday at 9pm on CBS.
