The ex-FLOTUS’ plans helped children in schools get their portion of fruit and vegetables as part of a healthy and balanced diet.
But, the Agriculture Department said in a press release the new standards will allow schools more flexibility “because they know their children best”.
And, Sonny Perdue, Agriculture Secretary said in a statement: “Schools and school districts continue to tell us that there is still too much food waste and that more common-sense flexibility is needed to provide students nutritious and appetising meals. We listened and now we’re getting to work.”
Many riled against the decision, especially since it was the ex-FLOTUS’ birthday.
One Twitter user said: “Trump will never have the respect and prestige that Michelle and Barack Obama enjoy in the whole world!

Another wrote: “The whole world already knows Donald Trump is petty-minded and spiteful.”

It follows a rollback of restrictions on milk and sodium content in school lunches.
The Obamas soldiered on on Michelle’s special day, with Barack sharing a special and unseen picture to make the occasion.
Four black and white images uploaded to Twitter by Barack on his wife’s 56th birthday show her holding him close, him kissing her cheek, hugging her, and finally him embracing her with his back to the camera.
He captioned the pictures: “In every scene, you are my star, Michelle Obama!
“Happy birthday, baby!”
Admirers of the powerful American couple were quick to echo his sentiment.
One said: “This is what a REAL First Couple looks like!!”
Another said: “Happy Birthday FLOTUS!”
A third added: “The best president and First Lady of my lifetime.”
Another said: “Happy birthday to the best first lady ever. I’m so grateful my daughter had you as a role model.”
