EastEnders spoilers: Whitney Dean murders Leo King as tragedy strikes Walford?

Whitney (played by Shona McGarthy) has had a turbulent time on EastEnders, having been introduced with a secret she was being abused by her step-father, Tony King (Chris Coghill). After years of struggling to get over her ordeal, it seemed she finally had her life back on track. However, last year the BBC soap welcomed the peodophile’s son Leo King (Tom Wells) to wreck more havoc for the Walford resident. With the evil menace being persistent in his dark ways, will his father’s victim resort to murder and push him overboard when the characters of the Square enjoy a boat party in the coming weeks?

It has been revealed at least one life will be lost when the residents of Walford celebrate The Queen Vic winning the Best Pub award.

On-location pictures of the cast filming the scenes have shown many members of the community will be onboard the boat, including Whitney.

However, there is no sign of Leo, meaning he has already left by the point the 35th anniversary comes around or something even more sinister is in the pipeline.

If the troubled character makes his way on to the vessel, despite half of the Square resenting him for what he’s put the fashionista through, will she take matters into her own hands?

The pair could end up having a confrontation for the last time and as he tries to leave the boat with Whitney, she could finally take revenge.

Seeing an opportunity to get rid of Leo once and for all, will the market stall trader push him overboard and let him drown to death?

After being forced off the vessel, Tony’s son could call out for help, but will his father’s victim watch as he suffers?

Pictures from the night shoots show Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) on site as a body is recovered from the Thames.

Executive Producer Jon Sen told press, including Express.co.uk: “Shona [McGarthy] plays tragedy so well and Whitney is such a compelling character that she is a character you can give the really tough stories too and she plays them with such conviction and power, you ere away from making her happy.

“The important thing for us with Whitney going forward, we agreed we wanted to push her to the front and centre of the show in terms of investing in that character.

“This [the wedding] story becomes the chapter in a much longer arc we have planned going forward.

“Over time, over the next 18 months, she learns from everything you’re going to see coming up and then going on into Christmas and the thirty-fifth next year.”

Could murdering Leo be the next chapter in a very dark storyline and change for the Walford favourite?

Several cast members have spoken out on the death which will shake the Square to its very core in the coming weeks.

Mick Carter star Danny Dyer, 42, told The Mirror: “We’re in the middle of filming that at the moment and you’re going to be shocked.

“There is talk of someone getting killed off. It is a massive shock to all of us, the whole cast,” so could it be a beloved character who meets a grim end?

EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
