Smash Bros DLC: Get Byleth for less with this Ultimate Fighter Pass DEAL

Nintendo Switch has exceeded all expectations after the disappointing Wii-U, and one of the brightest stars in the console’s impressive first-party lineup has been Super Smash Bros: Ultimate.

Launching in December 2018, the game has remained popular ever since – and for good reason. It offers a wealth of content, allowing players to duke it out as all sorts of characters from gaming’s past – and remains the only place you can pit Mario against Final Fantasy’s Cloud or Metal Gear’s Solid Snake, with 76 characters at launch.

When you factor in the DLC, the game just gets better and better, with additions like Microsoft’s Banjo Kazooie, Joker from Persona 5, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and the Hero from Dragon Quest being part of the game’s “Fighter Pass”.

We now know that Byleth, the lead character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, is joining the fray on January 31 – finishing off the initial Fighters Pass, and we also know that more characters are on their way.

That means there’s no better time to jump into Super Smash Bros: Ultimate – so we’ve found the best prices for the game and expansion pass so you get into the battle on your Switch, just in time for the next addition to the roster.

With regards to the game itself, you can get it cheapest at Amazon – with the retailer offering the game for £43.99. That’s the best price we’ve found, but you can regularly find it for just under £50.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate may have missed the cut-off for the Game Awards in 2018, but it did make it into the 2019 event – and won Best Fighting Game, while also being nominated for overall Game of the Year and Best Family Game.

It’s also the second best-selling Switch game, and had sold over 15 million copies as of September 2019. The only question left is, who could be in the next batch of DLC?
