Man Utd chiefs jet in to thrash out Bruno Fernandes transfer, Arsenal deal, Chelsea plan

Bruno Fernandes to Man Utd update

Manchester United have two officials in Lisbon, working on concluding a deal with Sporting for Bruno Fernandes ahead of tonight’s derby, reports in Portugal have claimed.

Old Trafford chiefs wanted the deal done before the match, while Sporting were determined to ensure their player plays against Benfica.

It looks as if Sporting will have their wish granted however the general consensus is that tonight will be Fernandes’ last game for the club before moving to the Premier League.

Portuguese journalist Goncalo Lopes issued an update for Manchester United supporters, in which he revealed that the club are currently in the process of finalising the deal.

He tweeted: “Long day for Bruno Fernandes. Do you play or not?

“Mendes jumped out of business, Manchester United has two emissaries in Lisbon. Negotiations continue.

“Miguel Pinho, Bruno Fernandes’s manager, and Hugo Viana, Sporting’s director, are currently leading the transfer business to Manchester United.”

Sadio Mane urged to leave Liverpool

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has been told he “has to leave” the club in the summer transfer window and join Barcelona or Real Madrid. That’s the verdict of Mady Toure, who founded the Generation Foot academy in Dakar where Mane once trained.

The winners of the Senegal Premier League last season, Generation Foot have also previously trained Papiss Cisse, Diafra Sakho and current Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

“The fact Sadio has won the African Ballon d’Or will spur him on to win the European one too,” Toure told the Guardian.

“That’s his objective. Sadio always told me he would become one of the best players in the world.

“He said that to me and now he is among them but he has to leave Liverpool now.

“It’s his last year and he has to leave Liverpool when it’s up to go to Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

Arsenal signing close

Arsenal are edging closer to completing a deal for out-of-favour PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa. The France international is out of contract at the end of the season, and Arsenal believe they can complete a deal for Kurzawa on the cheap this month.

The Gunners are trying to sign between three and four players this month, according to The Athletic.

Mikel Arteta is keen to stamp his authority on the current squad at the Emirates, and is close to making his first signing.

Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi is currently leading negotiations with PSG over a deal for Kurzawa.

Chelsea backed to make ‘statement signing’

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to make a “statement signing” in January, according to transfer expert Duncan Castles.

After the club’s transfer embargo was lifted earlier this season, Chelsea are keen to catch-up in the market, he said on the Transfer Window podcast.

Express Sport understands they are keen on Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and West Ham defender Issa Diop.

Castles claimed that the Blues’ priority was to bolster their attacking line.
