Charley Webb: Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle says she’s an ‘awful mother’ after school slip-up

Charley Webb took to Instagram last night sharing an emotional video with her 397,000 followers. The Emmerdale favourite explained how she had slipped up when it came to second son, Bowie, four.

The 31-year-old branded herself an “awful” mum in the candid clip, after detailing how she had forgotten to apply for a school for her little boy.

The Debbie Dingle actress has three sons with husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden, who portrays David Metcalfe in the long-running drama.

Charley gave birth to their first child, Buster, now nine, in 2010, followed by Bowie five years later.

They became parents again in July, welcoming Ace Gene, one-year after their secret nuptials.

However, their busy family life seemingly led Charley to forget about a very important form yesterday.

She explained: “So, Bowie is starting school in September and apparently yesterday was the deadline to get application forms in for what school you want.

“Totally missed it. Had no idea it was yesterday… I don’t know how this has happened but I just cannot believe that I’ve missed it.”

The small screen regular continued: “I feel so… I just feel like an awful mother right now. Has anyone else missed the deadline?

She later uploaded another video, stating: “I feel a thousand times better because I’ve had so many messages – this is why I love Instagram so much – saying, ‘Oh my god, I’ve forgotten’.

“Or even just giving a bit of advice, saying, ‘You’re not the worst mum in the world, you’ve just forgotten. It’s fine’.”

Charley added: “And that is why I love Instagram. 98 per cent of the time I love it.

“Anyway, if you have forgotten just call you local council and get an application form, or whatever it is you have to do. Mum life!”
