Viewers saw Jack struggle as he toasted a glass of wine to his late wife before he decided to turn to an old friend about his new romantic prospects with Anna (Nina Wadia).
“If anyone fancies a beer at Catherine’s, I’m buying,” he told his team after a difficult morning, where he ran into fan-favourite Catherine (Élizabeth Bourgine).
Opening up to Catherine, it became clear she could hinted she could enjoy a romance with the detective.
