Games with Gold is getting a January 2020 refresh, meaning one Xbox One free game is being replaced by another. Unlike with the PS4’s PS Plus subscription service, Xbox Live Gold titles go live at different times. This happens on the first of the month and the 16th day of the month, meaning we’re not that far away from a change. Currently, gamers can download Jurassic World Evolution on Xbox One and make it part of their digital games collection.
The business sim has been available for a month now and will soon be replaced by the final game of January 2020.
“Bring the wonder, majesty and inherent dangers of dinosaurs to life as you take charge of operations in the legendary park,” the official game description from Microsoft reads.
“Bioengineer dinosaurs with unique appearances and traits that think and react intelligently to the world around them and face threats posed by espionage, breakouts and devastating tropical storms in an uncertain world where life always finds a way.”
This will be Batman: The Telltale Series, which will be available to download until February 15, 2020.
“Put on the cape and cowl and defend Gotham in Batman: The Telltale Series. Featuring all 5 complete episodes, step into the fractured psyche of billionaire Bruce Wayne and his dark persona, the Batman.
“Featuring a noteworthy rogues gallery, your actions will determine the fate of the Dark Knight in this gritty and violent tale.”
There will also be a similar reshuffle for the Xbox 360 games that are available to download this week.
Tekken 7 can be claimed for another 24-hours before it is replaced by LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.
“Return to the epic saga from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away in LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.
“Play through all three of the original Star Wars films in the tongue-in-cheek LEGO style and humour. You’ll enjoy endless hours brick-building your way to adventure with over 50 of your favourite Star Wars characters.”
If you do miss out on adding the likes of Tekken 6 to your collection but have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, it won’t be such a big loss.
That’s because, on January 16, Tekken 7 will be added to the Xbox Game Pass vault of titles.
Tekken 7 is the latest instalment in the long-running fighting franchise and was launched on Xbox One, PC and PS4 back in 2015.
“The storied fighting franchise returns for another round in Tekken 7,” the official announcement from Microsoft adds.
“With the faithful 3D battle system and gameplay intact, Tekken 7 takes the franchise to the next level with photo-realistic graphics and new and innovative features and fighting mechanics with the attitude, competitiveness, and showmanship rooted in its arcade DNA to provide the ultimate fighting game experience on Xbox.”
And Tekken 7 won’t be alone in launching on the Xbox Game Pass on January 16, with Microsoft also snagging Grand Theft Auto 5.
It’s unclear just how long GTA 5 and GTA Online will remain part of the subscription service but it’s certainly a good look to have one of the best-selling games of this generation as part of it.
