Bruno Guimaraes interest
Arsenal are interested in Athletico Paranaense midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to the club’s president Mario Celso Petraglia.
Petraglia has claimed the Gunners will only make an approach once the season is over.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea had sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old during prior to their transfer ban but Petraglia mentioned the Gunners.
“Yes it’s true. Yesterday came the official offer from Benfica to sign Bruno Guimaraes,” the president said. “Arsenal are interested, but will only make an offer towards the end of the season.”
West Ham battle
Arsenal have reportedly reignited their interested in signing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, but West Ham are believed to be ready to scupper any potential deal for the Gunners.
Kessie has been of interest to Arsenal for a number of years but his future in Italy appears to be in doubt, despite being an AC Milan regular.
Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport claim the Italian club are willing to sell for little over £20million.
Arsenal are reported to be interested in signing the 23-year-old but West Ham are also keen. Let battle commence.
Mikel Arteta urged
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should consider using David Luiz as a midfielder if John Stones joins the club this month, says Gunners hero Ray Parlour.
“I’d be very, very happy if they brought someone like John Stones to the club,” Parlour told talkSPORT.
“He would definitely play. They’ve got Holding there as well. They’ve got Sokratis… Stones could probably play alongside him as well. He’s probably a better defender.
“Luiz has done alright in recent weeks. He’s done better. I think, if you’re really struggling in midfield, you could play Luiz as a holding midfielder.”
Mesut Ozil verdict
Mesut Ozil has been a regular under Mikel Arteta since the Spaniard took over in December.
And the German playmaker appears to be loving life again at the Emirates with his future having appeared up in the air under Unai Emery.
“It is basically getting us back to the old Arsenal virtues,” Ozil said. “Fighting and having possession, being in control of the game, having the ball all the time.
“Everyone is smiling, laughing, enjoying their time at the moment and this has made us be successful now.”
John Stones decision
Manchester City defender John Stones has been linked with a move to Arsenal and now the Premier League champions have reportedly made a decision on Stones’ future.
Stones is currently out of favour at the Etihad, having appeared in just ten league games this campaign.
That’s despite something of an injury headache for Pep Guardiola with a number of star defenders out.
But the Daily Mail claim Guardiola doesn’t want to see anyone leave the club during January, especially when it comes to his defenders.
