Australia fires satellite image: How smokes from raging bushfires has travelled the GLOBE

According to NASA, the effects of the Australian wildfires are noticeable as far away as Chile.

The US-based space agency created a UV index using satellite data which revealed smoke had travelled to the lower stratosphere.

They later found the smoke had travelled a total of 4,000 miles, and now they expect it could loop around the planet and back to Australia.

In a statement, NASA said: “The smoke is expected to make at least one full circuit around the globe, returning once again to the skies over Australia.”
