These are this week’s new PlayStation Store games

Anime legends and new heroes await you on PlayStation Store this week, as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Darwin Project headline the latest digital releases for PS4.

Read on to find out more about those titles as well as see the full range of new games launching this week.

Darwin Project | Out: Tuesday 14th January

Why it should be on your radar:

A new contender enters the battle royale arena with a couple of new twists to the formula. Darwin Project leans into the idea of matches playing out as episodes of a futuristic game show, complete with an off-screen Show Director who’ll toss in new threats mid-match to keep things exciting. Secondly the game boasts a survival adventure element, as players battle environmental dangers as well as other competitors.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot | Out: Friday 17th January

Why it should be on your radar:

The Dragon Ball anime has spawned numerous video-game tie-ins over the decades the gameplay of which have focused – rightly – on the series’ combat-heavy roots. Kakarot’s action RPG take is far more ambitious, with the iconic duels forming just one part of an open world adventure, complete with quests and character skill trees. Given its story encompasses the biggest story beats from the show’s history, this is a great jumping on point if you’ve ever been curious about the anime.
