Last night (Sunday, January 12), 10 new singletons were welcomed to the villa in South Africa for the first ever winter edition of Love Island. Presenter Laura Whitmore helped to couple up the pairs on the hit ITV reality show. However, we’ll just have to wait and see if any of these original matches will stick.
The first 10 islanders entered the villa in yesterday’s episode and already there is plenty of chemistry between some of the couples.
Siânnise Fudge, Sophie Piper, Paige Turley, Leanne Amaning and Shaughna Phillips arrived and were shortly joined by presenter Laura who told them it was time to couple up.
Next came in Nas Majeed, Callum Jones, Ollie Williams, Connor Durman and Mike Boateng.
The boys had to choose which of the girls they wanted to be with but the girls could step forward if they initially liked him.

While the girls were waiting for Laura to arrive, Shaughna asked what Sophie was looking for.
Her immediate reaction was to laugh and said: “Someone who’s short!”
During the first coupling up, Nas waited to see if any of the girls would step forward for him but none of them did.
When asked by Laura why she didn’t want to be paired with Nas, Sophie said she thought she was too tall for him.
The 23-year-old builder is 5ft 7in so Sophie is taller than this.
When describing what kind of man she was looking for before entering the villa, Sophie said: “Kind with something about them, someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
“I like confident but not cocky. Tall, tanned and light eyes.”
At the end of the episode, twins Jess and Eve Gale arrived to everyone’s surprise but will they be able to catch one of the guy’s eyes?
