Manchester City ace Sergio Aguero has set his sights on Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record after his 12th hat-trick in the league. Aguero scored three against Aston Villa to move ahead of Thierry Henry in the all-time goalscoring list.
Aguero now has 177 goals and is the most prolific non-Englishman in the history of the Premier League.
He is still a long way off of Shearer’s record 260 goals with the former England striker finding the net for Blackburn and Newcastle.
Aguero only joined Manchester City when he was 23 and has scored all of his Premier League goals for the Etihad outfit.
And his desire for goals shows no sign of letting up just yet.

Following the 6-1 win over Aston Villa, Aguero told Sky Sports: “I am so happy for the record but thank you to my team-mates because they help me. I am so happy.
“I want to keep scoring more goals but it all depends on my team-mates.”
And when asked whether he can break Shearer’s all-time Premier League record, Aguero added: “I will try. He has too many goals so I don’t know. I will try.”
And Aguero earned plenty of praise from his manager with Guardiola pleased with the Villa performance.
“Thierry Henry is one of the most incredible players to play in this league and he will be proud that Sergio is the guy who breaks his record.
“He was a legend and Sergio is the same. To score this amount of goals means you have done for many years a lot of good things. He’s been consistent for many years and so we are proud of him.
“He is the most incredible person. You cannot achieve this without being a guy who loves to play football.”
