Tesco issues urgent food recall over allergy fears – full list of affected products

Tesco and the Food Standards Agency shared the warning online, and urged customers to return the items to store for a full refund. The affected items are all pesto products which contains peanuts not mentioned on the label.

The FSA said: “Tesco is recalling the above products from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

“Tesco has issued point-of-sale notice to their customers. This notice explains to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.”

Tesco said: “Please do not consume this product but return the affected date and batch cod e of the product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.

“Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused. If you require further details, please contact Customer Services directly on 0800 505 555.”

Anyone with a peanut allergy or intolerance should check for the product in their homes and ensure they do not consume it.

Those who have bought the products are being urged not to eat them and instead return them to store for a full refund.

Sainsbury’s have issued point-of-sale notices to customers with more information on the recall. They have stated people can also contact the relevant allergy helpline to get advice if necessary.

The supermarket has also warned about an undeclared ingredient in their own brand Gyoza product. The food item contained prawns which are missing from the ingredient list.

This could cause serious health issues for anyone with a crustaceans allergy or intolerance.
