Star Wars Obi-Wan show 'includes THIS hugely UNPOPULAR Prequels character' Fans HATED him

It’s important to remember that it’s not just the current Sequel Trilogy which has upset so many fans. Although it’s hard to think of anything that has polarised the fandom in quite the same way. Back in George Lucas’ much-maligned Prequel Trilogy days, there was more than one element which provoked howls of protest. It wasn’t the casual racism of many of the characters (The Trade Federation and Tatooine slavers, anyone?) or even the midichlorians which raised the biggest protests however. One character stands above them all…

Oh yes, is the world really ready (how can it ever be?) for the return of the galaxy’s most accident-prone Gungan?

The walking booboo from Naboo remains one of the most ridiculed characters in this and any other franchise.

And it appears he will be back to spar with the Jedi master in the eagerly awaited Dinsey+ show.

Not only that, he has had a rather startling image make-over.

Ward did add the caveat: “Details and visuals are beginning to emerge (of the show)…  Because the series hasn’t filmed yet, I’m treating this as a rumour.

“That said, I believe it to be accurate and on the way.”

What nobody knows yet is whether actor Ahmed Best will reprise the role.

He provided the motion capture and voice for the Gungan in the three Prequel movies but later revealed the enormous distress he faced dealing with the virulent and vocal fan backlash to the character.

In 2018, Best posted a message; “20 years next year I faced a media backlash that still affects my career today…

“This was the place I almost ended my life. It’s still hard to talk about.”

According to reports, the Obi-wan Kenobi show scripts have been written it will start filming this year. No release date has has been confirmed but it is hoped it will debut later in 2020.
