Oti Mabuse fights back tears as Kelvin makes heartfelt statement ‘Thank you immensely’

Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse stunned BBC viewers last year on Strictly Come Dancing and finished the series as Glitterball Trophy winners. The dancing duo wowed judges and audience members alike and even though the competition’s over, they still share a close bond. So much so that when Kelvin sent a message to Oti on tonight’s The One Show (January 10), the dancer was left fighting back tears.

Oti appeared opposite Alex Jones and Patrick Kielty on the famous green couch tonight to discuss all things Strictly.

The presenting duo complimented Oti on her first-ever win in the contest but the dancer was full of praise for her celebrity counterpart Kelvin.

She discussed the pair rigorous training regime as well as mentioned she “loved” how the pair “motivated each other.”

However, the interview soon took a surprise turn for Oti as Alex revealed Kelvin had sent a video message to his co-star.

Kelvin added: “And I’ll be forever grateful, so thank you immensely from the bottom of my heart.”

During Kelvin’s heartfelt speech, Oti could be seen in the bottom corner and beamed with pride at her dancing partner’s words.

Oti finally revealed all about Kelvin’s story and said: “I think it was Blackpool Week, and we were working long hours,”

As Oti began a clip of her and Kelvin from rehearsals played of the dancer applying foundation onto the actor.

She continued: “He literally came in looking like that,” as she revealed she secretly used to apply makeup on her partner during rehearsals

The trio shared a laugh at the clip before the conversation turned to The Greatest Dancer.

The Greatest Dancer continues every Saturday on BBC One.
