Arsenal make Boateng enquiry

Arsenal have made enquiries for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Sheth said on the Sky Sports Transfer Show: “Mikel Arteta has admitted that after Callum Chambers’ injury that has ruled him out for nine months, his plans in the central defensive position have changed.

“According to Sky in Germany, Arsenal have enquired about Jerome Boateng.

“It’s not only about a potential transfer fee but also about a potential loan move and what the player would require in wages as well.”

Smith Rowe exit confirmed

Huddersfield have confirmed they have completed a loan deal for Emile Smith Road.

A statement on the Terriers’ website read:

“Huddersfield Town has completed the signing of Emile Smith Rowe on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season!

“An attack-minded midfielder, Smith Rowe is one of the brightest English talents of his age. He generally plays centrally but has the capability of operating from the left side too.

“Smith Rowe, 19, has already made 15 competitive appearances for the Gunners in the Europa League, Premier League and cup competitions, scoring four goals, whilst making three further appearances for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig during a loan spell at the start of 2019.”

Cavani offer

Arsenal and Manchester United are among clubs to submit formal offers for Edinson Cavani, according to reports in Spain.

The Uruguayan frontman is out of contract in the summer and is, therefore, free to speak with other clubs.

According to El Chiringuito, Arsenal, United and Inter Milan have all submitted offers for the 32-year-old.

Thomas Lemar decision

Arsenal have decided against signing Thomas Lemar because of the options they already have available, according to Goal.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta is also lacking funds this month meaning they have decided to bypass the deal.
