PUBG Mobile Season 11 update: Tencent confirm big release date news

PUBG Mobile Season 11 is releasing very soon on Android and iOS, bringing with it new content and a new Royale Pass to the game.

Tencent has revealed that Season 11 of PUBG Mobile will be starting on January 11, meaning there is only a few days to go.

And we’ve also started learning what will and will not be included in the upcoming PUBG update.

As many PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds fans will know, the new Royale Pass will be launching on Friday, January 10.

This will include an assortment of new cosmetic items to unlock through the usual tier system,

There will also be few new weapons and changes made to the game as part of the new PUBG Mobile update.

But one thing that won’t be included is Erangel 2.0, with the major map changes still undergoing development work.

Tencent confirmed as much through the PUBGM support team, with one fan asking about its progress.

“Still in progress,” a replying message from the PUBGM support team reads, concerning the working being done to launch Erangel 2.0.0

“We want it to be absolutely the best it can be, and that takes time. It’s worth doing right!”

Erangel 2.0 is already available to play in other versions of PUBG but has yet to launch on the Mobile platform.

And while some changes can be noted between the different PUBG versions, Tencent is dedicated to keeping a level of parity moving forward.

“PUBG Mobile and PC versions both share the same vision and values of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds IP,” Tencent Esports Director James Yang revealed in 2019.

“For PUBG Mobile, the team focused on delivering the original PC version’s core excitement to mobile platforms.

“We’re in a fortunate position where the PUBG Mobile team can learn from the game’s successes on other platforms and vice versa.

“Moving forward, we will benefit from being able to improve the PUBG Mobile experience using these resources.

“No matter how the upcoming updates are conducted, our goal is always to provide the best gaming experience for our players.”

So while it doesn’t sound like Erangel 2.0 will be available in PUBG Mobile this week, it should be dropping sometime in 2020.

PUBG Mobile Season 11 will also come with some other changes that could prove just as eye-catching.

Beta testers have been sharing news of the Blue Zone moving faster and being made harder to outrun.

There is also news regarding base level issues with the game being fixed, including lag problems that have been flagged for months.

New weapons have also been leaked, including the DBS Shotgun being introduced to PUBG Mobile on Android and iOS.

Tencent has yet to share its full plans for the rollout of PUBG Mobile Season 11, aside from confirming that the Royale Pass will be available on Friday, January 10.

A larger update is expected to go live with Season 11, meaning that there could be downtime and server maintenance on January 9.

Fans will want to keep an eye on the PUBGM social media feeds over the next 24-hours, as more news concerning downtime should be shared.
