The FLOTUS rarely is seen in these forms of crunch meetings between world leaders, leading many to question why exactly she was in attendance. During the meeting, the US President congratulated his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis on “making a comeback” after their monetary woes of the last decade. Between 2010 and 2018, Greece was in financial ruin but has made a dramatic u-turn in recent years.
Mr Mitsotakis claimed his country had “followed a recipe” set by the US, which included the lowering of taxes.
Despite the positivity surrounding the meeting, social media users were more interested in the baffling appearance of Melania.
One wrote: “Does anyone know why Melania was in the meeting with the Greek pm today?
“She’s usually not there for this stuff.”
Another wrote: “POTUS doing standup for press while visiting with Greek PM in oval — anyone know why Melania is in this meeting?”
A third wrote: “Why is @FLOTUS Melania Trump on that meeting with Trump and Greek Prez.
“She’s sitting there looking lost and clueless#TuesdayThoughts #TuesdayMotivation”
A fourth continued: “What the hell is his handler Melania doing in this meeting??”

These include organisations that support the arts, education, health care and other charitable schemes.
But many online were outraged at the First Lady receiving such an accolade.
Eileen Burns, co-chair of the event, said: “Our first lady is an exquisite human being, a magnificent wife and life partner, a superb mother and an outstanding first lady, who represents us brilliantly in the United States and worldwide.
“Melania is a perfect example of a Woman of Distinction and we are most proud to honor her.”
Some praised her work on her BeBest campaign, which is tackling issues in the US such as cyber bullying.
