Leaks have indicated that Microsoft may be planning a lower priced next-gen Xbox that will make the entry cost for the next-gen much more affordable.
That is a tact that Piers Harding-Rolls, from IHS Markit Technology, expects Microsoft to use at the start of the next-gen.
And the analyst added that he does not expect Sony to follow suit with this pricing model on day one.
Speaking to GamesIndustry.Biz, Harding-Rolls said: “I also expect pricing of both PS5 and Xbox Series X to be similar, and I think it’s more likely than not they will be higher than the PS4 launch price point of $399.
