The Golden Globes is underway (here’s how to watch), with Ricky Gervais on hosting duties for a fifth time. The show sees Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Adam Driver and Joaquin Phoenix all up for major acting awards.
Netflix dominates overall nominations, with Marriage Story, The Irishman and The Two Popes all vying for best drama. They face off with Joker in what may be the most controversial category of the night.
Notably, one of the biggest shows of all time is nearly absent from the ceremony. Game of Thrones‘ sole nomination came for Kit Harington in the best actor in a drama TV series category (no, he probably won’t win).
