The NHL selected the head coaches for the Jan. 25 All-Star Game at St. Louis, with Todd Reirden of the Washington Capitals, Bruce Cassidy of the Boston Bruins, Craig Berube of the Blues and Gerard Gallant of the Vegas Golden Knights getting chosen.

The decision was based on the coaches whose teams had the highest points percentage in their respective divisions by the end of play Thursday. Reirden will represent the Metropolitan Division, while Cassidy will head the Atlantic, Berube will have the Central and Gallant will lead the Pacific.

Reirden’s Capitals were the top team in the NHL after Thursday’s games with 59 points and a 27-9-5 record. The Bruins also had 59 points but had played one more game.

Since 2016, the NHL All-Star Game has consisted of each division having its own team, with the four sides squaring off in a three-on-three tournament.

All-Star Game rosters were announced Monday, with a final vote to complete the rosters currently ongoing.

The NHL All-Star Skills Competition will take place Jan. 24, with the All-Star game one day later, both at the home of the Stanley Cup-champion Blues.
