Tottenham battle

Everton ace Jonjoe Kenny is reportedly wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham, potentially sparking a transfer battle for the right-back.

Kenny has spent this season away from Goodison Park having joined Schalke on loan in the summer.

He has made 17 appearances for Schalke and helped them to battle for a top four place in the Bundesliga.

And with Tottenham and Arsenal both looking for reinforcements in defence, the Daily Mail claims the north London clubs are both interested in the 22-year-old.

Changed plans

Calum Chambers is set to be out for considerable time after undergoing surgery on his knee, changing Mikel Arteta’s January transfer plans.

“We’re going to be in the market to see for options that can strengthen the team,” Arteta said.

“We had a bad injury with Calum, that’s going to change our plans at the back. We’re not going to be able to do much.

“Chambers is in London, having surgery. It’s not looking good.”

Auba to Barca?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is linked with a January move to Barcelona from Arsenal.

And former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson is backing a move, saying: “Barcelona, they need a player, I would say, down that left-hand side that can join in with the other front players.

“So I would say for Barcelona it would be a hit, for Arsenal it would be a miss.

“But I’m going to go with, Aubameyang seems to want to go, I’m going to go with a hit.”

Mikel Arteta advice

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should focus on strength central defence, central midfield and out wide this month, according to Gunners hero Kevin Campbell.

Campbell told Express Sport: “He hasn’t got enough, that’s for sure, as is proven. If you can get the player that you want in January, you go and get him.

“You don’t mess around, you get him in the building as quickly as you can and you get working with the player.

“If they can do the business and get a defender, a centre midfielder or a winger or whatever Arteta sees fit, if it can happen in January, go out and get him.”
