You season two set up a new challenge for Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) as he moved to Los Angeles and attempted to put his murderous past behind him. However, as soon as he met Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) he found himself recreating his old ways before she revealed how she had more in common with him than he ever realised.

Is Love really pregnant in You season 2?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for You season 2

You on Netflix ended with a huge twist for new character Love when she revealed she was actually behind a number of murders on the show.

In a shocking turn of events, Love trapped Joe in his glass case as she told him she had killed her au pair when she was younger.

She then went on to reveal she was behind the deaths of Delilah Alves (Carmela Zumbado) and Joe’s ex-girlfriend Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers), whom she killed in order to protect him.

The revelations devastated Joe, who in a final showdown with Love tricked her into opening the door of the glass cage.

And viewers know Love does want to start a family after she was shown in flashbacks with her ex-husband telling him she wanted children.

Actor Pedretti also seemed to allude how Joe would have definitely killed her character if she hadn’t said she was pregnant.

When asked if she thought he would, she told Elle: “You’ve got to ask Penn, but it looked like he was going to kill me, right? It really looks like he’s going to kill me.”

In other interviews, Pedretti has gone on to confirm the twist, including in a chat with the New York Times.

She said: “It’s what ultimately pushes her toward that action [killing Delilah] — the life of her child and this idea of a new family that can help her escape her own and the cycle in which she feels trapped.”

Alongside this, screenwriter Sera Gamble hinted this could be explored in season three.

Gamble told Variety: “At the end of the second book, he’s going to jail, and so we all were like, ‘Are we going to send him to jail?’

“And we kind of feel like we did, in a certain way.”

Just what the real truth is about Love’s pregnancy and her future with Joe is expected to be revealed in a potential season three.

You season 2 is currently available to stream on Netflix.
