FIFA 20 Red Player Picks bug: EA Sports provides latest on FUT Champions rewards

FUT Champions is a popular game mode that offers FIFA 20 gamers the chance at grabbing some great Red Player Picks.

But this weekend saw a bug hit the game that affected many when it came to them picking up their Weekend League rewards.

Pages have sprung up on the internet for players complaining about the problems that hit FUT Champions this weekend, with EA Sports confirming that they have disabled FUT Weekend League Rewards until they have solved the issue.

From what has been shared so far, FIFA 20 gamers spent the weekend grinding out the wins necessary to unlock the Red Player Picks, only to find that they were rewarded with normal cards or nothing at all.

The number of FUT Champions Points earned for each game is dependant on your performance and current Division, meaning the better you play, the more points you earn.

And From the start of FUT Champions in FUT 19, fans have had the option to play up to 30 games during each Weekend League on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

That provides a chance to unlock the best Red Player Picks and makes them pretty important to those taking part.

“While reducing the number of games for Playstation 4 and Xbox One players in each Weekend League from 40 to 30, we’ll maintain the same level of rewards every week per tier, ensuring that Weekend League continues to be the place where you can earn the best rewards in FUT,” EA Sports revealed in 2019.

“Increasing the maximum number of games from 25 to 30 for FUT Champions on PC will, for the first time, allow players to earn the same level of rewards for playing the Weekend League as console players.”

But this weekend saw a Red Player Picks bug affect FIFA 20 gamers, who have been discussing ever since.

The good news is that EA Sports know about the problem and are currently working to fix it for all platforms.

“Not trying to defend EA, but reverting thousands of picks and resetting rewards without taking out the packs seems like a more complicated issue than taking down SBC,” one fan writes.

Another adds: “I understand. But besides the fact that it shouldn’t be too hard to literally repeat the same kind of code but with a different player database, they still take a good mistake out as quick as possible.

“This shouldn’t have happened in the first place tbh, it’s not like they are giving out WL rewards for the last couple of years.

“They just gave out the wrong player pick packs, people are asking for compensation but what is a decent compensation at this point? Every compensation EA gives can and will fuck up the market. Even untradables. People will pack good players so fewer people want a certain player which will fuck up the market and their prices.”

Here’s the latest from EA Sports on the current Player Pick problems in FIFA 20: “Good morning #FIFA20 players, the FIFA team is working on the Weekend League rewards issue you’ve reported to us. More info to come here and on @EAFIFADirect as we have it.

“We’ve temporarily disabled Player Picks for #FIFA20 Weekend League rewards while we work on a fix, and you’ll get them later on once we’ve re-enabled them. We’ll continue sending updates as we have them.”

The Direct Communications account on Twitter had this to add a few hours ago, telling fans: “The team is aware of the issue impacting Weekend League rewards and is working on a resolution. Updates to come later today when info is available.”
